The Vietnam memorial is one of my favorite pieces of work by Maya Lin. The way you experience the art by walking down a declining slope as the list of names gets bigger and bigger is really powerful even saddening. But it is when you turn the corner and begin to walk up the incline that you really understand how she meant to take you in the depths of war and then bring you out back into the world
