Maya Lin’s “Eleven Minute Line”, located in a cow pasture in
Sweden, is a 1600 feet long “line” which in some places reaches a height of 12
feet. I chose this work by Maya Lin because at first I thought it was her
signature. I found it compelling to look at and wanted to know more about the piece.
After doing more research I found that the Serpent Mound inspired this work. What
a found most interesting about the piece is the location, as it is occupied and
cows actually roam here. I find it strange that Lin’s well thought out work is
a place for cows.
